When we met Emily and Chris for some pre-wedding photos everything was sorted for their Mere Golf resort wedding – except the honeymoon. “We have no idea where we’re going. No really, its a surprise from Emily’s dad, we just know we need passports”. By the wedding day it was still a mystery and the source of much speculation whilst they were getting ready, with suggestions ranging from New York to New Brighton.
Like many of the couples we work with, Emily had told us she didn’t feel comfortable being photographed, so that time together at the start of the day is ideal for just having a chat and relaxing. Whilst the bridesmaids were busy making confetti cones, Chris was getting into his suit next door. Aimie Louise Benson had done a beautiful job of Emily’s make-up, and before we knew it, it was time for her to get into her wedding dress from Cheshire Bridal Wear in Altrincham. And what a beautiful dress it was! Emily is tall and elegant and the style of her dress suited her perfectly. Delicate flowers by Laurel Weddings were a beautiful complement to the pastel tones of the bridesmaids’ dresses.
After a few last minute adjustments it was off to the Mere, where Chris was already waiting with his groomsmen. It was wonderful to see how happy Emily looked coming down the aisle on Dad’s arm. Proud parents and family looked on as they made their vows in a lovely ceremony, and then a short drive in their vintage style car was followed by confetti, relaxing with guests and drinks on the balcony. Afterwards it was back inside where the team at Mere had done a fantastic job of of preparing the room for the wedding breakfast and speeches (great cake by ArtyCakes!). Finally the mystery honeymoon destination was revealed – two weeks in Jamaica!
Wedding days are wonderful, but can feel a bit hectic, so it was good to slow things down a bit. Whilst Emily and Chris had some time on the balcony together in the cool of the early evening we took some relaxed portrait shots. And then it was on to the evening dancing and fun. A wonderful day with a wonderful couple, thank you Emily and Chris.
