Mothers-of-the-bride (and groom!) here’s to you.

One of the best things about being a wedding photographer is the fun of getting to know families, and being part of the interaction between them on the day. So in honour of Mother’s Day, we are putting mothers of the bride (and groom!) centre stage on the blog.

For some brides it goes without saying that Mum will be there helping them get ready; for others it would add to the stress, and friends and sisters are called on instead.  Its a very personal decision, and only you will know what’s right for you.

Sometimes it can be an occasion to show Mum your appreciation and care for her too.  We love this reportage photo of Laura helping her Mum with the finishing touches to her make-up.

After the formal part of the service its always good to  capture the closeness and fun of families in relaxed photos.

Then there are those amazing people, who manage to be both bride and mother at the same time, finding time to comfort and care for their own little ones, even in the middle of the most hectic part of the day.

So (wedding) hats off to mothers everywhere, and thank you for all the little things you do that mean so much.
