Portrait Photography in Chester

No matter how many years you have been shooting, it’s always good to keep updating your skills. On Monday Jim spent the day with Ian Southerin, in Chester refreshing our approach to off-camera flash in preparation for some exciting work we are undertaking later this month. Here are some examples of the day’s work, with model Danni doing the honours. What a great day, with the moody atmosphere created by a combination of a quite dramatic sky, clever selection of exposure settings on our Leica M9, and careful use of balanced off-camera flash. Whilst a wedding isn’t a fashion shoot, dramatic lighting can add so much to bridal portraits. This approach is simple to set up and fits in nicely with a post-reception portrait session. Why not have a look at our blog of Jess and Mike at Rowton Hall to see this in action.
