Lymm Dam in Cheshire is just minutes from where Rachael, Hamish, Wesley and Lewis live, so it was the perfect place for Jim to meet them in chilly March for a family portrait session. It is a great setting for a short walk allowing us to capture families just being themselves and being together – feeding ducks, climbing trees (that’s the kids, not Jim!) and generally having a good time. Lewis and Wesley were full of fun and Jim had a great time photographing them. Environmental portrait shoots are fantastic – the combination of informal relationships and the structure provided by a landscape setting is hard to beat (whatever the weather!) Best of all, this lovely family have a record of special time spent together, and one day Wesley and Lewis can show their own children just how loved they were by Mum and Dad.
